Clothing Style: As her family is apart of the Elven Royal Council, Celaena is forced to wear a lot of dresses but whenever she has the chance, she wears warm autumn colours in the style of a hunting outfit and will go hunting with a few of the other elves, foraging for fruits on the way. In the Human world, she wears white shirts and tight leather trousers with combat boots. She is training to be a warrior and will occasionally wear armour, when in her training sessions with her father.

Celaena had a beautiful childhood, having been born near the castle and was shown off to many of the council members. She had been called a beautiful child even then, comments often being made for the Queen to also have a child and preferably a son so that the two families may join together. Her twin brother, Caspian, was shown off to the male members of the council as a soon to be knight and so from that moment on, they had their lives paved into stone. They played around the castle, much to the Kingdom's delight as they were known as the 'Sun and Moon' Twins. Caspian with his hair like the golden sun and Celaena's like the night sky.

Celaena grew obsessed with the art of fighting, having seen her brother train one day and her mother instantly drew her away from the window, forcing her to sit down and sew. She would beg her brother to teach her secretly and for about a year, at the age of nine, Caspian would teach her in the dead of night and it would leave Celaena exhausted. She put it down to simple restlessness in the night but her father knew differently. He took her aside and demanded that she tell him the truth and so she did, crumbling in fear of her father but all he did was pick her up, spin her around and declare his pride. He told Celaena that he would speak with her mother and off he disappeared, a crow coming later in the day to inform her of her new schedule. Sewing was no longer part of her curriculum, in fact, nothing that her mother wanted her to learn was on it and was filled with History of Magic and Elves, Alchemy and the art of healing and her favourite of all, fighting. She became better than her brother, sneaking off with the trainee hunters and would often drag Caspian despite his objections. His eyes were more latched onto the females of the court, using his ever present charm. But no matter what, he would always say that Celaena is his main girl and would always pick her over the rest.

Now at the age of eighteen, it is expected of Celaena to find a Groom and her brother to find a Bride but they made it so they had to love their future husband/wife. So Celaena was in no rush, simply enjoying her peaceful life without a man beside her and wanted nothing more than the life she had now with the occasional council meetings, the dinners with the King and Queen (their families being quite close) and her studies.


The Nightingale family is quite the popular family; Celaena's mother being connected to the Royal family through friendships formed at birth and her father being connected to the Royal family due to his services in their army. He now stands within the council as Captain of War and allows his children's presence in these meetings so they can learn also. The family is filled with knights, alchemists and scholars; Celaena wishing to be all three.
