Luna was born to Xenophilius and Pandora Lovegood. Girl had quite good life. Her parents loved her very much time together for sure. They all did get along fine. She was only child in her family. She had always known who she was in future. She did show signs of magic when she was just five years old girl.

Her mother accidentally died while experimenting with spells when Luna was nine, she just loved to experiment with spells. No one didn't really expect this to happen. So ever since then she was raised by her father. Her father never married again.

When girl finally became eleven she began to attend to the Hogwarts. She was sorted there into the Ravenclaw house. Her school years were quite good. In her fourth year girl did join with the Dumbledore's Army, what was lead by Harry Potter back then,of which she became an important member. She participated in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries (1996) and the Battle of the Astronomy Tower.

She did co-led the reconstituted Dumbledore's Army when Hogwarts fell under the control of Lord Voldemort. Because of her father's political dissidence at the time, Luna was abducted by Death Eaters to be held ransom, and imprisoned in the dungeons of Malfoy Manor for months. She was freed by Dobby along with several other prisoners in the spring of 1998, and stayed at Shell Cottage until she returned to Hogwarts to participate in the final battle of the Second Wizarding War.

After the war, Luna became a Magizoologist (magical naturalist) and eventually married Rolf Scamander, with whom she had twin sons, Lorcan and Lysander. Luna's good friends Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley also named their daughter and third child, Lily Luna Potter, in honour of her.


Lovegood was the surname of a wizarding family. They lived in a house near Ottery St. Catchpole in Devon, England, and thus close to the Weasley, Fawcett, and Diggory families. Their pureblood family.

The Lovegoods were generally regarded as unusual by mainstream wizarding society, as they tended to hold and espouse belief in things most others do not believe in, often published in the family magazine, The Quibbler. The Lovegoods are related by marriage to the Scamander family, as Luna Lovegood married Rolf Scamander and had two children, Lorcan and Lysander Scamander.
